Airlines in the UK stand accused of keeping millions of their passengers’ money for themselves, money which should really have been refunded.

Technically a passenger who does not travel on a flight they booked should be able to then reclaim the tax paid on the flight.

Which? the consumer rights magazine says that most UK airlines make it near impossible to get back the money.

“In some cases it costs at least twice as much to reclaim the tax as the tax itself,” said Which?’s Rochelle Turner.

We at UK Herd believe this is tantamount to theft, and the airlines should make the process easy and ideally free to customers. People deserver to get back the tax, it is owed to them, so making the money impossible to claim is both unethical and mean-spirited.
